Welcome to the Book Sleuth website! The Book Sleuth Mystery Bookstore serves Southern Colorado with a huge selection of new and classic mystery books. This site is still under construction, but a lot of information is available. You can view information related to Book Signings, Rare Books, and our Contact Information.

    The Book Sleuth offers a wide variety of mystery books from new paperbacks and hardbacks to used paperbacks and hardbacks. We also sell new juvenile mystery and educational titles, and used Nancy Drew and Hardy Boys.

    We pride ourselves on the fact that with very few exceptions, our books are offered to you in good condition with all pages intact and covers in good condition. Therefore, we only accept for trade boks which are in a condition which meets our standards for sale.

  • Paperbacks: Generally, customers receive 1/4 of the cover price in credit.
  • Hardbacks: We also accept book club and hardback editions of some mystery books. Most of these are credited at $1 each.
  • Nancy Drew and Hardy Boys: Generally, these are also credited at $1 each.
    When you bring in books for trade, you will be issued a credit slip showing the amount of credit on it. That credit amount may be used on any used book in the store. If you do not use the entire amount of credit at that time, you must save the slip showing the remaining credit amount on it, as we do not keep records of any credit balances. Any such remaining credit may be used in the future, providing you bring that credit slip in with you at that time.

    We may pay cash for books upon occasion at our discretion. We would offer a lower price than the credit amount if we were to pay cash.

    We reserve the right to not accept any book in trade, or to not trade for books at any time, for any reason.

Discounted Books

    We are starting a new monthly promotion in December, a Book of the Month. These will be, as much as possible, a first book by a new author, or a first book in a new series. We will provide as much information about the author, the book, and the series as we possibly can. We will sell them at a 25% discount for the month. Here is the December Book of the Month:
